Sweet Sherlock Holmes was rescued from a high kill shelter. He is being fostered by our sister rescue group, For the Love of Dogs in Bedford, NY (15 minutes from our shelter). Hes the kind of dog that wants to bond deeply and be included in his persons daily routines.. he really enjoys being a part of things and craves quiet company. Homsie is sweetly affectionate..see him gently kissing the face of our dog/kid tester and junior dog walker, six year old Charlotte! (seen in photo) Charlotte walks Sherlock by herself so we know hes a is good boy on the leash....Homsie will sit at your feet or curl himself into your legs.. or if invited pop up on your lap! He so appreciates being loved on! He gets an expression on his adorable little face that will melt your heart! Sherlock greets everyone respectfully and in friendship but can be overwhelmed like a lot of smaller dogs so only respectful dog savvy kids please.. He'll come greet you by snuggling his adorable body into whatever parts of yours he can reach. He hasnt shown us that he is into running around chasing balls.. at least not so far! He is more of a dignified sort of dog.. who really enjoys being together.. hanging.. probably like to watch the game.. probably digs sofas..WE think Sherlock is mixed in with something a bit larger than a Chihuahua.. someone said Beagle.. but it'd have to have been a small Beagle..since he only weighs but 13 lbs!! He wants so much to be someones Little Buddy! We will be posting new pics and updates in the coming week so do check back. Sherlock is 3 years old and weighs about 13 lbs.
